Amina’s Text Message: “Thank you for being understanding, not that I don’t love you, I love you so much, but I’m afraid you will kill me, I must choose to leave though I love you, I also don’t hate you, I pray for you and I’ll always pray for you, I’ve tolerated a lot, I’ve been tolerant to you, God, the prophets, angels and people are all my witnesses, I’ve tried to the best of my capacity but enough is enough, I’m so tired, thank you for all you have done for me in my life, I’ll never forget your contribution towards me, I believe my departure is your comfort, he who doesn’t want you doesn’t need to tell to leave, you will just know from his actions and if you are wise you will understand, you did me wrong but right from inside my heart I’ve forgiven you on earth and in paradise, I will leave with my clothes only, I’m not after our belongings, I won’t sue you in court, and I believe that if I work hard, I will also manage to own my own property, I come from a poor family, but there is where I was born, home is home, I will stay there, thanx.”
It was hard to believe the news but it had happened and there was nothing Tanzania could do. There is a Swahili saying “Kazi ya Mungu haina makosa”, which means the will of God can never be questioned.
Soon after Amina’s death, many people were interested in finding out the ABC’s of the whole matter. Some related to politics, others connected it with love affairs and others with everything they thought in one way or another was one of the causes of her death....
